This is one of those dog breeds that are seldom
recognised on the street. In fact I believe it only happened once
since we had her.
Things get even more interesting whenever you're trying to explain
what they look like to someone who has no idea what an appenzeller
is. Usually it all starts with...
Do you know the bernese mountain dog? She has those three colors
in a similar pattern but the hair is short like on a labrador.
She's also about 2/3s the size and weight compared to a lab and
has a tail curled upwards like an old fashioned post horn. All
clear?
